“Scuola” derived from the Italian word meaning School, in keeping with our Patron Maria Montessori the famous Italian Educationalist/Theorist.

About Us
We are so happy you are interested in joining our beautiful community and would like you
to know as much as possible about us. Scuola Montessori has three beautiful privately
owned Montessori preschools, two of which are based here in Tauranga, and our third one
is in Masterton, in the stunning Wairarapa region. All three schools catering exclusively for
children from 12 months to 6 years.

Our Philosophy
Our Philosophy at Scuola Montessori is, to provide an environment that is homelike, peaceful, loving, and safe and in which we endeavour to recognise and provide opportunities that will “Nurture the love of learning and inspire our children to become responsible and peaceful citizens of their world”.

A purpose built Montessori preschool based on a Home Like Environment, with a unique partly covered outdoor play area for all year round use, rain or shine..

Both schools provide many positive interactive indoor and outdoor learning experiences, such as: - growing vegetables, maintaining the school garden, care of the school pets, preparing morning tea, baking, exercises in practical life, art and music.
